Buzzin' With Buzzy can be used as a fun supplement to the Letter of the Week curriculum.  The author, Lynn Grandy Butler, has done an excellent job of sharing her many years of teaching experience in this book.  I would like to thank Mrs. Butler for including my Letter of the Week booklist in her book.

The book begins with a Monthly Classroom Journal and Craft Ideas section, where Mrs. Butler shares what she did in her classroom.  This whole section is told as a story from the viewpoint of Buzzy the bee.  I like how this was creatively done.  The crafts for each month follow the many holidays and special occasions through the year.  Great ideas!  My daughter loves looking for Buzzy on every page.... he can be hidden so you have to look carefully.

The next section of the book is Buzzy's Letterbook.  It shares songs, poems, finger plays, rhymes and booklists for each letter of the alphabet.  These ideas can be a great supplement to the Letter of the Week curriculum.  There is a lovely picture of an alphabet quilt which sparks the imagination and would be a wonderful way to keep a long term record of your child's experiences.
