The sound this letter stands for is  - /x/ as at the end of box (ks).

**Important Note**  The letter X does not come at the beginning of very many words, especially with the proper sound (ks).  I have chosen words that have X at the beginning, middle or ending of a word used with the proper sound (ks).  (Xylophone is commonly used in children's alphabet books, but I have refrained from using it since it really makes a 'zzz' sound.)

Tic Tac Toe - play using X's and O's.
Pretend to be a Jack-in-the-Box and pop out of a cardboard box.
 

Field Trip

Take a trip to a rail yard and look for boxcars.
