Sound of the Week Lesson for /ui/

Language Arts

The sound this week is the vowel combination /ui/ as in fruit.
Emphasize the /ui/ sound often throughout the day.  Have your child repeat the sound with you.

Put up your sound wall poster.

Day 2:  Practice writing the letter "i" on one line of handwriting paper.

Day 3:  Practice writing the vowel combination "ui" on one line of handwriting paper.

Day 4:  Practice writing the word "fruit" one or two times.

Day 5:  Practice writing any of the other theme words one or two times.

An apple is so juicy and sweet, I choose one for an afternoon treat.

An apricot is so juicy and cute, I eat it wearing my new suit.
Plums are so juicy and small, I wish that I could eat them all.
